Korean Beef Bowls

A beautifully plated Korean Beef Bowl served over white rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds, presented in a rustic ceramic bowl with chopsticks on the side.

This recipe serves four and is perfect to serve over rice for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed

  • ¼ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce

  • Two teaspoons sesame oil

  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or more to taste

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

  • One tablespoon vegetable oil

  • Three cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • Two green onions, thinly sliced

  • ¼ teaspoon sesame seeds


Instructions:

1. Prepare the Sauce:

  • Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger in a small bowluntil well combined. Set aside. 2. Cook the Beef:

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, crumbling the meat as it cooks. Drain excess fat. 3. Combine and Cook:

  • Pour the sauce mixture over the browned beef and continue to cook until heated through about 2 minutes.


4. Serve:

  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

  • Serve immediately over rice.
