Ghosts, Skulls, and a Little Early Halloween Magic

Even though the calendar says August, the spirit of spooky season always seems to show up early in my studio.
This year, it started with a small batch of ghosts—each one hand-shaped and painted with little details: mushrooms, stars, lemons, even tiny books. Some are colorful and quirky, others soft and simple. All of them carry a little personality, like they just floated out of a storybook.
Then came the skulls—designed with a bold simplicity and made from glow-in-the-dark polymer clay, each finished with a smooth satin gloss and topped with a rose motif. They glow with a soft green haze in the dark, and the texture under your fingertips gives them a slightly eerie, slightly elegant charm.

Both designs came from the same place: that feeling of fall creeping in. Not in a rush, not in a push—but in the way you feel it in your bones. The shift in light. The whisper of change.
✨ The ghosts and skulls are available in limited batches and will be stocked this week at Opposites Attract & Friends in Chemainus. I’ll also have a few extras coming to the shop soon.
Thanks for letting me share a little early autumn magic with you. As always—handmade slowly, with love, in Crofton.
