Last summer, my dear friend Liz from @nielsenshoney sent me a handful of charming Pinterest links—ideas for making little jar toppers that could hold flower stems beautifully in place. The idea stayed with me.

This year, with actual flowers blooming in my garden (a small miracle in itself!), I’ve finally brought that idea to life—now called the FloraTop.

Each FloraTop is handmade from flexible polymer clay and gently curved to rest on standard mason jars and Bonne Maman jam jars. Whether you’re arranging herbs, wildflowers, or seasonal blooms, these soft little toppers help you create a simple, beautiful display.

While they’re not quite for sale just yet, the joy of using them—after dreaming of them for over a year—feels like a bloom of its own.

For now, they’re just part of the creative rhythm I’m moving through this summer. They’ll be available soon at Opposites Attract and Friends and eventually on my website, but right now I’m simply enjoying the magic of watching an idea bloom—literally.

Thank you Liz, for the nudge and the inspiration.

And thank you to the flowers, for showing up this year. 🌼

🖤 What is a FloraTop?

A FloraTop is a reusable clay flower lid designed to sit on top of a jar. It guides your flower stems through small openings, helping them stay upright and beautifully spaced—without needing floral foam or a full bouquet.

Caring for Your FloraTop

Each FloraTop is handcrafted from flexible polymer clay and designed with a soft curve to rest comfortably on top of standard mason jars and jam jars. With a little care, it can last for many seasons of bloom.

💧 Cleaning:

– Rinse gently with cool water and mild soap

– Pat dry or air dry completely before storing

⚠️ What to Avoid:

– Bending or twisting the shape—while flexible, FloraTops are not unbreakable

– Soaking in water for extended periods

– Hot water or dishwasher use

– Sharp tools, rough scrubbing, or dropping onto hard surfaces

– Direct heat or prolonged sun exposure

🗃️ Storage:

– Keep flat or gently stacked in a drawer, basket, or box

– Avoid placing heavy items on top

– Store in a dry place, away from high heat or humidity

FloraTops are made to be used and loved—whether with garden blooms, herbs, or dried stems. For more inspiration, follow along at @seasidemagnolia 🌸
