Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
Three tablespoons (22g) of unsweetened cocoa powder
Two large eggs
1 (5 ounce / 150ml) can evaporated milk
1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, melted
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
One unbaked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the filling:
Whisk the sugar and cocoa powder in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
Add the eggs, evaporated milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the filling is smooth and well combined.
Assemble the pie:
Pour the chocolate filling into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Bake the pie:
Place the pie on the middle rack of your preheated oven.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the filling is set around the edges but still slightly jiggly in the center.
Cool the pie:
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
