Nielsen's Honey

Crofton, B.C.

Sweetness, guidance, and growth in every jar

When we first moved to Crofton, Liz from Nielsen’s Honey welcomed our family with honey and flowers — a small gesture that made us feel right at home. That warmth has never faded.

Liz isn’t just the beekeeper behind some of the best honey in the Cowichan Valley — she’s become a mentor and a friend, someone who continues to inspire and encourage me in both life and business. She was the spark behind some of my very first earring designs, inspired by her garden, bees, and the honey they produce. She’s also the one who encouraged me to create the FloraTop, which has now become a favourite piece of Seaside Magnolia.

Beyond her honey, Liz is an anchor in the community. You’ll find her every Saturday at the Duncan Farmers Market, a year-round gathering at the heart of North Cowichan. She’s always nudging me toward growth — reminding me to step into more stores, try more markets, and put myself out there.

The bees may be across the street, but the inspiration reaches much further. Liz has a way of bringing out the best in people — and I’m lucky to call her both a mentor and a friend.

Thank you, Liz, for everything you’ve poured into your community, your business, and me.
