How to Use Hair Sticks (and Why I Love Them)
Hair sticks have been around for centuries, but they’ve been making a comeback — and for good reason. They’re practical, elegant, and give your hair an effortlessly put-together look without needing a dozen bobby pins or elastics.
Why I Love Hair Sticks
For me, hair sticks aren’t just functional, they’re a little piece of wearable art. I love how they can transform even the simplest bun into something unique and intentional. They’re lightweight, easy to carry, and a perfect mix of beauty and practicality. Plus, unlike elastics that can tug or break hair, hair sticks are gentle and keep styles secure all day.
And of course, I couldn’t resist designing my own — sword-inspired hair sticks with gemstone details. They’re bold, fun, and a little bit magical — a perfect match for anyone who loves accessories with personality.
How to Put in Hair Sticks
If you’ve never used hair sticks before, don’t worry — they’re easier than they look. Here’s a simple way to start:
Put your hair in a twist or bun. Gather your hair as if you were making a ponytail, then twist it into a bun shape.
Hold the bun in place. Use one hand to keep the twist tight against your head.
Insert the stick. Push the hair stick through the edge of your bun, catch a little section of hair against your scalp, and weave it back through to the other side of the bun.
Adjust as needed. One stick works for a simple twist, or use two for extra hold.
That’s it — once you get the hang of it, it’s quick, secure, and surprisingly comfortable.
My Sword Hair Sticks
The designs I’ve been making are a little different from your everyday hair sticks. Each one is shaped like a miniature sword, complete with gemstone or pearl accents. They’re not only functional, but they also bring a touch of strength and playfulness to your everyday look.
Perfect for everyday wear, a night out, or even just making messy hair days feel intentional — these hair sticks are about blending practicality with personality.
