Bringing the Outside In: A Magnolia Reflection

The magnolia tree outside is heavy with soft, early spring blooms — a yearly reminder of how fleeting beauty can be.
As I moved through the garden, I noticed the shaded inner branches. They won’t bloom fully, but there’s still so much to them — a gentleness, a softness, something that asks to be noticed.
I trimmed just a few, tidied their ends, and placed them in an old, thrifted vase I’ve loved for years. The arrangement is simple. Temporary. And that’s the point.
Cut flowers don’t need to last to have meaning. They bring us into the present. Into a room. Into ourselves.
“Not every flower is meant to last. Some are here to teach us presence.”
